Arcadia Bluffs was founded in 1999 on the windswept bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan. In addition to a championship links course, Arcadia Bluffs offers other amenities including The Restaurant at Arcadia Bluffs, which offers a world-class culinary experience. Designed for comfort, the lodging options provide an elegant, comfortable and private environment, including intimate social areas perfect for company gatherings. This critically acclaimed resort will soon be home to two courses, as The South Course is set to open in August, joining its sister course – The Bluffs.

The Bluffs
Par: 73
Length: 7,300 yards
Rating: 75.7
Slope: 146

This championship course designed by Warren Henderson was built on 240 acres that was a mix of apple and cherry orchards and densely wooded sections, and resembles a seaside links course, with rolling terrain and windswept natural fescues. Players will be reminded of their favorite holes at Lahinch and Ballybunion, while enjoying breathtaking views of Lake Michigan from all points on the majestic layout.

Called one of Michigan’s most iconic courses, The Bluffs has some of the most spectacular golfing views in the country, as the course sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, with all 18-holes offering views of the lake. Offering a world-class golfing experience unlike anything in the United States, golfers must anticipate the blowing wind coming in off the lake, giving players the opportunity to take risks and go for memorable shots or play it safe with a chip-and-run approach.

The South Course
Par: 72
Length: 7,412 yards

Opening in August 2018

The South Course at Arcadia Bluffs is a tribute to a bygone era in golf course design that few golfers today have ever experienced. With a focus on strategy, and the thought provoking use of angles, the goal for this new course is to capture the simplistic nature of the courses from the early days of golf in America. The inspiration for the building of the South Course was born out of a desire to present the guests at Arcadia Bluffs with a golfing experience unlike that of any other golf destination in America.

The final routing of the South Course is two distinct nine hole loops, each containing a balanced mix of north, south, east and west facing holes. This is particularly important due to the ever present winds across the property. Not more than a mile from Lake Michigan, players will be subjected to continually changing winds throughout their round.

The greens on the South Course are large in area, averaging over 9,400 square feet, and quite often squared off in their shape in one or more of their corners. Pinnable areas are separated into different sections using swales, ridges, slopes and isolated bumps. Fairways and approaches are wide to accommodate optional lines of play and allow for high approaches or ground assisting bump and runs. The strategic placement of fairways and greens over the existing landforms in combination with the sandy soils, proven agronomic practices and a modern irrigation system will allow the course to play firm and fast.

From commencement of shaping to final seeding, the South Course building process was completed in only 6 months as a result of minimal earthmoving and the sandy soil conditions.
