Holly Sonders

Holly grew up in Marysville, Ohio and started playing golf at a young age. In high school, she earned all-league and all-district honors and was named league and district MVP. She also played baseball and basketball.

She majored in journalism at Michigan State University, where she won many titles and honors. She entered her senior year with a 78.47 career stroke average. Sonders is the most experienced athlete at the university with a total of 77 collegiate rounds played.

While playing collegiate golf, Sonders suffered a knee injury. Unable to play like she used to, the journalism major transitioned from actively playing golf to broadcasting. After college, she went to Little Rock and worked as a news broadcaster for a year before landing at the Golf Channel in 2011.

Holly Sonders left the Golf Channel for Fox Sports when the network was looking for talent to cover the U.S. Open in 2015.
