The Ohio State University Golf Club is a semi-private club exclusively for those with an Ohio State University affiliation. It is home to two masterpieces in classical golf course architecture.

Designed by world-renowned golf course architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie, the Scarlet Course is rated as one of the top collegiate courses in the nation. Original plans were submitted in 1931 and construction of the Scarlet Course was completed in 1938. Work on the sister Gray Course was finished in 1940. Built in the midst of the Great Depression, the course is part of the Works Progress Administration, a program designed to create jobs during the Great Depression.

Between 2005 and 2006, the Scarlet Course underwent a major restoration project overseen by former Buckeye legend Jack Nicklaus, who restored the course to the way MacKenzie originally intended it to play. The bunkers were redesigned to appear more like the classic MacKenzie designs. The course was also lengthened to play more than 7,400 yards and the par was changed to 71. Work also entailed increasing the size of the driving range and a short-game practice area was built for both varsity golf teams, as well as another one for the members of the club.

The Ohio State University Golf Club is located 1.3 miles from campus.
