Home of the largest spectator golf event in the world, TPC Scottsdale is Arizona’s professional golf headquarters, offering professionals and causal golfers alike a world-class sporting experience. Featuring two champion courses containing 36 inspiring holes of golf, the upscale amenities at TPC Scottsdale let everyday golfers experience “a day in the life” of a PGA Tour player.

The Stadium Course

Par: 71
Length: 7,261 yards
Rating: 74.7
Slope: 142

Designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf specifically to serve as the stage for a professional tournament, the Waste Management Phoenix Open has turned into the greatest spectacle in golf. Each year, a record number of spectators gather – most at the legendary par-3, 16th hole known simply as “The Coliseum,” creating the most raucous golf hole on tour. “The Greatest Show on Grass” set new weekly attendance records in 2017 at 655,434 patrons. The 2016 tournament also set daily attendance records with the largest crowd to watch a round of golf in person at 204,906 on Saturday, topping the previous high of 201,003 set in 2016.

The par-72 course is player friendly, but beware of the 72 deep bunkers strategically located throughout the well-manicured fairways. The large greens play fast and feature numerous twists and turns. Desert vegetation including cacti, mesquite and Palo Verde trees, are scattered about the course. Water comes into play on six of the holes.

The Champions Course

Par: 71
Length: 7,115 yards
Rating: 73.4
Slope: 137

Despite being the lesser-known of the two TPC Scottsdale courses, the Randy Heckenkemper-designed Champions Course offers an ideal desert golf experience. Built on the former site of TPC Scottsdale’s Desert Course, the layout was renovated in 2007 to flow seamlessly within the naturally rugged terrain, meandering between natural ravines and through picturesque foothills.

Designed to balance strategy so as not to favor any one type of play, the Champions Course provides golfers of all skill sets with a challenging experience that can be significantly different each time they play. A great round can be quickly derailed by the challenging finishing holes, which promise to leave even the best players with goose bumps.
