The Peninsula is a private, gated Gulf Shores community quietly tucked away in its own secluded corner of the world. Residents have the freedom to do whatever they please: dine at the club restaurant, experience the beautiful solitude of Cabana Beach, Peninsula’s private beach on the bay or enjoy the more active sports of golf, tennis, swimming or jogging.

Nature preserves surround this community, situated only minutes from the Gulf and a national wildlife refuge. Its neighborhoods overlook lakes and fairways of a 27-hole golf course and Bon Secour Bay, south of Mobile. Residents enjoy nature trails, a private sandy beach with a pier for fishing and crabbing, and a racquet club with swimming, fitness and sports facilities.

The Peninsula Community was recognized in July of 2003 and 2005 by Where to Retire Magazine as one of the “100 Best Master Planned Communities in America.”

One of Alabama’s most unique golf experiences is in Mobile Bay. Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club, a 27-hole layout featuring three distinctive 9-hole courses, provides golfers with the challenge of different playing experiences through three different course combinations. Situated on 820 secluded acres and touched on two sides by the Bon Secour Wildlife Preserve, the natural beauty of Peninsula can make golfers temporarily forget they are on the course.

Players on the Cypress course must rely on accuracy to avoid some of the area’s largest white-sand bunkers and stay away from the oaks, cypress and other natural vegetation that lines the course. The appropriately named Marsh course forces golfers to avoid wetland hazards mixed among long and deep white-sand bunkers. Nowhere else on the course do the property’s 30 lakes come into play than on the Lake course, as each hole contains at least one water hazard. The 18-hole combinations include Marsh/Lakes, Lakes/Cypress and Cypress/Marsh and are announced on the day of play.

Designed by Earl Stone to offer a constantly changing variety of golf and visual appeal, Peninsula keeps the most avid golfer challenged and captivated by its design and surroundings.

Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club offers more than just great golf in the Gulf Shores area; it is a full-service Alabama golf club, complete with an array of social activities and events designed for the entire family. The recently remodeled clubhouse features both a restaurant and grill where members can order meals ranging from fine cuisine to the simplest of fare.

The Racquet Club offers members and guests of Peninsula a one-of-a-kind, full-service club that sets new standards of quality and recreational amenities for communities of its kind. The Racquet Club is a Gulf Shores Alabama private facility, open only to those living in the community or those staying in the on-site condominiums and interested in playing tennis in Gulf Shores Alabama.
